    Thumbs down What winter Olympics?

I am so disappointed with the 9 network / Win television for their 'coverage' of the winter Olympics. The majority of the time the coverage starts at 10.30pm - we workers are in bed asleep by that time! Why oh why must we sit through the cricket - which we can see any old time??? I do not have pay tv, nor do I intend to get it - I would need to give up full time employment just to watch everything, but then how on earth would i PAY FOR IT? iT IS DISGRACEFUL THAT ONLY THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD PAY TV ARE ACTUALLY GETTING TO SEE THE WINTER OLYMPICS!

I think you'll find that a game of cricket in which Australia is competing and most likely winning will outrate some marginal sport like Men's Skeleton in which there are few or no Australians competing, and certainly none winning. It's purely ratings based.

I think you'll find that the reason why the olympics are aired in the middle of the workday is cause It's aired directly from Vancouver. Heard of something called timezones?
Some call it a bicycle lane, I call it a kill zone

So you're angry at Channel 9 because they're showing live cricket which can be watched "any old time" instead of showing replays of Winter Olympic events which happened earlier in the day?

You want the Olympics??...Then PAY FOR IT

I got 4 channels here showing all the events 24 hours a day(on Austar)....Right now we watching the figure skating which is brilliant....This morning I watched Canada lose to USA in the ice hockey....
I watched Torah win gold live as it happened and have cheered for all the Aussies as it happened....

My $65 was money very well spent

Foxtel is definitely the way to go if you're really keen on the Olympics, or sport in general. Free to air networks all do a shocking job covering sport.

However, AP, Canada vs. US and Torah's gold were both live on Channel 9. They left the hockey for about 10 mins in the second period to show some bobsled though.

Yeah it's pretty much a slightly more suicidal version of the luge.
