In case anyone cares, I am not doing it for looks, I'm doing it because I've been overweight for 7ish years and have a family history of obesity, high cholesterol, heart disease and bad knees. Easier to do it now when I'm 23 rather than wait until I need a knee replacement.

Our reasons are similar. My parents both have a history of high blood pressure and stroke. I'm going to do all I can to not end up like either one--my mother is on blood pressure medicine and all kinds of stuff for anxiety...and my dad has been in a home for over 10 years because he has had so many strokes. Its sad.

But if you look good it's a bonus, right?

That's pretty much how I think of it.
