Different sides

I've decided that different sides in life makes people blind. We kill each other so much, that many people who could have been useful to us in the past, present and future are wasted. We could have formed alliances, made the world a force to be reckoned with as a whole. Why the fuck did the Arabs for example have to cause 9/11 instead of negotiate an alliance with the US? That would've been more constructive. We've got to turn away from the infantile delusion that we have to make opposites our sworn enemies. Sides are for ignorant fucks. We can gain so much by cooperating mutually.

Maybe if we put aside our differences on this world, we might be able to fend off an invasion from another. If we don't dissolve the concept of different sides and find something in between, we could end up siding with the invaders. It was done on Earth during the Spanish Civil War, when the Lefties sided with the Russians, so who's to say a faction of us won't do the same with aliens?

Electronic Arts likes to believe so. They created the Scrin in Tiberium Wars, an insectoid alien race that levels entire capital cities, leaves them in ruins to create chaos among the human race, while they build their bases in the wreckages they create and send out their forces to enslave the minds of humanity.

They created all this in a cinematic spectacle, which portrays humanity getting invaded and killed in the very streets they walk. Even a campaign where the Scrin conquer Earth in the same fashion is available. I'd say EA has what they would like to call a premonition of a possible future.
