Have you considered to monetize VYA??....This will often and if done right not only pay for the hosting but even show you a nice profit....

Some of the ways to monetize include Adsense or yahoo adds...Selling text adds or banner adds....paid subscriptions....Upgraded memberships...

They must be busy forums, That ad below has always (atleast the last year or more) appeared for non-logged in users (but at the top of the page), I'm just testing it to see if it makes any difference showing it to all.

You get crumbs for impressions (like 1c per thousand), and a varying amount per click (with google it depends on the price the advertiser paid for the keyword, there was some video on how the process works but I can't find it now)

Most of the aussies run Firefox with adblock extension, so you're robbed even of the CPM earnings, which is why I never bothered before to show it to logged in users, and they definitely aren't going to click on the ads, which is where you make the real cash.

In a year that ad has made $13, so like $1/month, I have A$75 in my google adsense account (from older projects aswell), but need a minimum of A$150 to get a cheque, so at this rate it'll be a long time but I can cash out that money.

I have a site on another server that makes slightly more than it's server fee (and still growing), but that server can't handle VYA aswell, if it ends up making enough to cover that server+vya server, then problem solved.

The stats on VYA isn't mind blowing, 2k visits/month, 18k pageviews/month, if you know ways to make more money, then certainly let me know.

I'd switch from banner adds to text adds.....It's like 4-5 text adds for the same space as one banner takes....And more likely to get hits at the top of page rather than at the bottom...
Also with more adds in the same amount of space you got more chance of the visitors being interested enough to click on them....
You can also decide the type of adds you show by logging into your adsense account...

You seem to have the google bot set up right but I'd work on driving more traffic to VYA....
With extra traffic(page views) and the adds at the top your sites income should increase....
Also worth checking out what yahoo pays per click compared with google....

The problem I found with the text ads before, as they work on the keywords in the document, you would get ads that weren't really relevant, ie, since 'post' appears on every page, and possibly multiple times per page, the ads it was showing was like 'retractable supply posts' etc.

I also don't want to change ad provider otherwise I will never get enough in the kitty to get a cheque from google (My other site doesn't use google ads, it uses Adbrite).

Still open to suggestions.

To get traffic??....Depends if you want traffic for free or if you prepared to spend a few bucks....

10,000 unique hits can cost as little as US$25....

For free traffic I'll send you a heap of ideas via PM......
