My guess, she never wanted to go out with out, but said yes to not hurt your feelings, but later said she couldn't cause her mom said no. I don't think her mom said anything

Well, instead of making a new thread, I'll just post this here.

I've got a really good friend who's a girl who I've liked for quite awhile. Last time I told her, she took it alright, but there wasn't anything she was feeling for me.

I sort of put her out of my thoughts for a bit, but we still talked and all of that. Well, she's back in there, and now I can't decide what to do. Ideally, the end result would be us going out. Worst case, she stops talking to me. I could go about this a lot of ways. I could go right up front and not beat around the bush at all and just ask her, or I could compliment her and subtly imply that I'm interested over the next couple days. Or something else entirely. I don't even know if I should do this, as I value our friendship a lot. By 'a lot', I mean 'If she stopped talking to me, I'd fall into depression and kill myself' a lot. I consider her one of my... three or four real friends. If she takes it badly or anything like that and is uncomfortable talking to me anymore... It'd be bad.

Any suggestions?

Don't say anything! You've already told her once. It would be a huge mistake.

You probably don't really like her that way anyway. It might just be that you get along really well. When I was young I had friends that I thought I was in love with. We were just friends. Thank god I never worked up the courage to tell them. Could have ruined some great platonic relationships that I still have today.
