How much is a pie at the footy these days??...Does sauce cost extra??...

    Just wondering...

When I was a kid sitting at the footy was for snobs...We stood....
During the last quarter of the reserves I'd hunt around for empty beer cans...You could walk up and buy a slab so an empty slab box was easy to find...
Fill up the box with empty cans...Not the thin one's that crush easy today but the ones you could stand on even when empty...
Then I'd stand on the box and be able to see great action like this

Is the other part of reason because they don't have football stadiums out in Woop Woop?

I don't really buy food at the footy, so I don't know how much pies cost. About $4 I think. It's pretty ridiculous. All I remember is that sauce doesn't cost extra. They have big sauce dispensers outside the food outlets. At least they do at the G. I'm pretty sure they do at the Dome.

No I lived in Melbourne throughout the 90's....I became an afl member at one stage and went to a few GF...Got too expensive so I dumped it...
If the pies make it and I pay $1000 for a ticket I'll still be miles in front...

Incidentally my first grand final I went to was the 1977 draw with North...

Not the worst logic in the world, I suppose. Personally I'd rather go to games on an at least semi-regular basis. Though back on your previous point, I have to say I really haven't had similar experiences regarding violence at the footy. I personally haven't ever seen anything of that nature occurring either during or after games and most of what I've heard from others seems to suggest it is a fairly rare occurrence.

Rules on buying grog have changed and the outrageous prices would also have an effect....
It's probably calmed down a lot since I used to go....

Is it safe to park your car with Vic number plates at Football Stadium yet or do those pigs still scratch up ya car for you??

LOL...Guessing I'm the only one here that has seen South Melbourne play at the Lakeside oval...Or Fitzroy play at the Junction oval....

It could just be that the post-game violence is only occurring along particular train lines.

... and in Nathan Bock's hotel room.
