Personally I hope it's the saints...That way they will have somewhere to keep all their wooden spoons

Cats. A forecast of wet weather all week suits them a bit better, plus the Saints are coming off a physically tolling game. Will two weeks off effect the Cats though?

It'd be a damn shame if the Cats were the best team over the last three years and only have one flag to show for it. Jimmy for the Norm.

the bombers were clearly the best side netween 1999-2001 and nobody dares dispute that, despite having just one flag to show for it. the cats have been the form side of the comp for at least two of the last three years with a flag and a runner-up so far. they needn't win it again to prove they are a terrific side.

Yeah, but they need to win it to prove they were the dominant side from 2007-2009. I don't dispute that Essendon were the most dominant side from 1999-2001, but with that comes the tag that they are the most underperforming team in modern history.

I actually find it kind of funny that they carry that with them, but for some reason (maybe Rudi's susceptibility to going on a killing spree) I don't want Geelong to carry the same tag.

Obviously I'm going for the Cats. I don't necessarily think we will win it (I'd certainly be a lot less disappointed to lose this year than I was last year), but we certainly have the tools and are coming into form at the exact right time of year.

Also Dan I suspect your line of thinking comes about due to the history of both clubs: the Cats are success starved and perennial bridesmaids and the Bombers are pretty much the most successful club in the game.
