if it were, it wouldnt have an entirely different name. not to mention ball, playing field, rules...

Nah it's because yanks know that soccer is called football, so they just assume that soccer and NFL are the only two games that bear the name football.

by the way, did i get a winning tip for the dogs as the away side since i hadn't tipped before that game? i thought there was a way to check your old tips but i couldnt get my head around it just now or maybe there isnt

There is, sorta.

Once you tip for the current round, and your name appears on the front page, click on your name, then choose a previous round for the drop-down box.

So you can't view your previous tips until you've tipped for the current round, tad shoddy but i'll work something out later.
